CA Hospital Breastfeeding Report 2008

This report uses existing data to compare California hospitals on their breastfeeding rates. The report was produced by the University of California at Davis Human Lactation Center (UCD HLC) and sponsored by the California WIC Association (CWA), with funding from the Kaiser Permanente’s Healthy Eating Active Living Program.   • POLICY BRIEF - contains background, detailed information about the data, statewide information, and lists the fifteen highest- and lowest-scoring hospitals in the state. It also examines the link between hospital policies and practices and exclusive breastfeeding rates.
  • COUNTY FACT SHEETS - display breastfeeding rates by individual hospitals, and compare hospitals within counties. NOTE: The counties with too few births with known feeding to report were: Alpine, Calveras, Glenn, Mariposa, Modoc, Sierra, Trinity and Yuba.
