2007 Breastfeeding Awareness Walk


The California WIC Association and the California Breastfeeding Coalition with help from the California WIC Program are organizing a Breastfeeding Awareness Walk throughout California on August 7, 2007 to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week.

One of the California walks will be held at our State Capitol in Sacramento from 12pm to 1pm and is sponsored by Senator Tom Torlakson. Horton, Director California Department of Public Health, Senator Carole Migden, Allen Ng, Regional Administrator, USDA Food and Nutrition Services.

Your walk might be as simple as getting breastfeeding advocates and WIC staff together at lunch time to walk around the block, or as elaborate as an event with speakers and a health faire at the finish line.


A Toolkit has been developed to help you make your plans a reality without having to reinvent the wheel.
