Information, Dates, & Locations

Capitol Visit Day

We welcome you to talk with your local legislators as one of the people who make WIC Work throughout the state. Let your representatives know who you are and what what you do, inform them about the issues that are important in your region, and help them understand the needs of WIC participants. This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved, get active, and speak up for your community.

A Fall conference was not possible this year with the demands of eWIC rollout, which meant that travel to Sacramento for Capitol Education Day was not feasible for most local agencies. CWA is providing another way to engage our representatives, kicking off Put WIC on the Map, a campaign to engage our state and federal representatives with education and information on the WIC program, highlighting the benefits and importance of WIC. In addition to your visits with your representatives, CWA will plan a number of opportunities in Sacramento to share WIC information with our representatives. Stay tuned for more exciting details!

What you need to do now:

Register for the kickoff webinar, which will be on Sept. 17, 9:00-10:30am.

Invite 1 state or federal representative to your WIC office, OR go to their district office for a visit ON Sept. 17.

Plan to host visits with ALL of your representatives by the Spring Conference, April 5-8, 2020. Only you can put your representatives on the WIC map and join us to celebrate WIC representation throughout the state.

ACTIONS: 1. Register for the Kickoff Webinar.  2. Make the call to your state or federal office now to set up 1 visit for Sept 17. Questions? Ask Sarah.
