MAR: Census 2010
Be Californian. Be Counted.
Local WIC Agencies,
help support Census efforts!
The U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States, and is required by the Constitution to take place every 10 years.
ALL Californians, regardless of age, resident status, or home ownership need to participate in the Census so we make sure CA receives our fair share of the $400 billion of federal money for things like hospitals, schools, emergency services, job training centers, schools, senior centers, bridges, tunnels and other public works projects.
By law, Census information is confidential, is protected under federal law, and cannot be shared with law enforcement or immigration agencies.
Census forms will begin arriving in mailboxes from March 15. They will be delivered to every residence in the United States and Puerto Rico.
The Census has 10 short questions and takes 10 minutes to complete.
Completed forms need to be mailed back in the postage-paid envelope provided. For those who do not mail back their forms, a census taker may visit their home and ask them the questions from the form.
U.S. and California Census Bureau have materials in multiple languages. Please download and share with WIC families.
Make yourself a part of California's history. Be counted on April 1, 2010.
